The 1-1/4" dock pipe we use is actually Gatorshield in-line galvanized steel tube which is much stronger than standard schedule 40 pipe. Our Gatorshield steel tubing utilizes a triple layer of protection that offers exceptional corrosion protection as compared to the single layer of zinc used on other pipe. A 99.99% pure zinc coating is applied to the surface, followed by a conversion coating. A clear organic coating topcoat is then applied to seal the the surface and produce a smooth shiny finished pipe.
